Premium Worm Castings Application Rates
These are general recommendations:
Sod or Seed Lawn:
- Rototill 1.50 cubic feet of Premium Worm Castings per 100 square feet.
Ground Cover Areas:
- Rototill 1.50 cubic feet of Premium Worm Castings per 100 square feet.
Backfill for Container Plants:
Line bottom of plant holes with 1 inch of Premium Worm Castings. Amend backfill mix at the following rates:
- 1 Gallon: 1/2 cup
- 5 Gallon: 1.5 cups
- 15 Gallon: 6 cups
- 24” Box: 1/4 cubic foot
- 36” Box: 1/2 cubic foot
- 48” Box: 1 cubic foot
- 60” Box: 2 cubic feet
- 72” Box: 3 cubic feet
Vegetables and Annual Color:
- Line bottom of plant holes and seed slot online furrows with 1 inch of Premium Worm Castings. Set seeds or plants in place and cover with your favorite soil mix.
4” Perennials or Color Pots:
- Line bottom of plant holes with 1 inch of Premium Worm Castings. Add 1/4 cup of Premium Worm Castings per plant to backfill mix.
Premium Worm Castings Maintenance Program
Lawn:
- Topdress 1/2 cubic foot per 100 square feet.
Ground Cover Areas:
- Topdress 1/2 cubic foot per 100 square feet.
Perennials:
- Work 1/4 cup into the soil above the root zone taking care not to damage shallow roots. Apply in Spring and early Fall.
Vegetables and Annual Color:
- Topdress during growing seasons at a rate of 1/4 cup per plant or 1/2 cup per linear foot of row once every 2 months.
Roses:
- Work 1 cups per plant into the soil above the root zone taking care not to damage shallow roots. Apply in Spring, early Summer and early Fall.
Shrub Beds:
- Topdress 1/2 cubic foot per 100 square feet, Spring and Fall.
Citrus:
- Top dress within the drip line at 1/2 cubic foot per 35 square feet. Apply in early Spring and late Fall.
Deciduous Fruit Trees:
- Top dress within drip at rate of 1/2 cubic foot per 35 square feet, early Spring, Summer and late Fall.
Specimen Trees:
- Top dress within the drip line at 1/2 cubic foot per 35 square feet. Apply in Spring, Summer and Fall.
Palms:
- Topdress rootball area with 1” of Premium Worm Castings Spring and Fall.
Pots:
- Add 1/2 inch of Premium Worm Castings to top of your soil. Mix in gently taking care not to damage shallow roots. Repeat every 2 months.
Note:
- Gently water in the Premium Worm Castings when you topdress areas so the castings adhere to the soil.
SuperChar Application Rates
These are general recommendations:

- Rototill 1.5 cubic feet of SuperChar per 100 square feet.
Ground Cover Areas (Pre-plant):
- Rototill 1 cubic feet of SuperChar per 100 square feet.
Backfill for Container Plants/Specimen Trees:
Line bottom of plant holes with 2 inches of SuperChar. Amend backfill mix at the following rates: 1 Gallon: 2 cups
- 5 Gallon: 6 cups
- 15 Gallon: 1/2 cubic foot
- 24” Box: 1 cubic foot
- 36” Box: 2 cubic foot
- 48” Box: 4 cubic foot
- 60” Box: 8 cubic feet
- 72” Box: 12 cubic feet

- Line bottom of plant holes with 1 inch of SuperChar. Add 1 cup of SuperChar per plant to backfill mix.
Roses:
- Work 2 cups of SuperChar per plant in the soil into the root zone. Taking care not to damage shallow roots.
Shrub beds:
- Apply 2 cubic feet of SuperChar per 100 square feet. Work into the root zone.
Trees (Existing):
- Top dress 1″ of SuperChar within the drip line of trees. Work SuperChar down into the root zone (min. 6″-8″) below surface. Apply a 2″ layer of mulch on top. Water.
Potted Plants:
- Add 1″ of SuperChar to top of your soil. Mix in gently. Water. Repeat every 2 months.
Back fill w/ potting soil:
- Mix 1 part of SuperChar to 4 parts of your favorite potting soil.
